So Purple Blush is a Thing, and I’m Here For it

Collage by Odia Melissa

On one of my many nightly scrolls on Tik Tok, I can’t help but notice purple blush sweep the cheeks of countless users. Purple isn’t necessarily your “traditional” blush color but, the variety in shades and tones allows it to be the perfect choice to try something out of the box with your makeup.

Just like your typical pinks, corals, and oranges, finding the perfect purple blush depends on your complexion. For cooler undertones, go for something violet and if you have a warmer undertone, try a magenta. For those of you who tend to be neutral, you’re in luck; the world of purple is your oyster.  These are just suggestions; makeup is meant to be fun and experimental, so you do you.

To complete a full face, I would suggest using analogous colors (colors next to each other on the color wheel). You could gravitate towards warm tones and incorporate pinks and reds or go a cooler route with blues. Seems scary I know, but they can work together and be totally wearable. To keep things fuss-free, a monochromatic moment would be epic too.

Here’s a couple of my favorite my favourite blush formulas available in purple;
